Catching Up with Rob Preuss!

When did The Spoons visit your high school? If you're like me, you have some fond memories of humming Romantic Traffic after hearing it often on the radio, or seeing their videos on Much Music in high rotation.

Burlington's own Rob Preuss,

a founding member and keyboardist of The Spoons,

was a huge part of the 80's Canadian music scene and contributed to the rise of the music video era.

After leaving The Spoons, he wrote, played and toured with Honeymoon Suite on the Racing After Midnight Album and Tour in 1988.

An incredible musician and keyboardist, Rob ended up in New York where he played for such iconic broadway shows as Cats and Miss Saigon, and eventually became the Associate Musical Director for Mamma Mia! at the Wintergarden Theater. As well, Rob helped Rami Malek capture Oscar gold, mentoring him on his piano work for his role as Freddy Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. An amazing Canadian talent.

While you are there check out the other great No Sleep Til Sudbury podcasts, a must for Canadian music fans.
