Eddie Shack was a true original. Well known as "The Entertainer", he was truly one of the greatest personalities that ever played in the NHL. To celebrate the return of hockey this week and to honour his legacy, we are launching The GCCB.ca Shack Cup: Fantasy Hub Contest.
FIRST PRIZE for the winner of The GCCB Shack Cup is one of our stylish coffee mugs and more importantly Eddie's original 1961 Parkie Hockey card as seen here.
HOW TO ENTER
Each of the 5 rounds of the contest will see two classic NHL teams face off against each other (starting Aug 1). Each round will be posted here on the GCCB.ca.
Decide which of the two teams would win and then explain why by commenting on our Facebook post for that round.
The comment that receives the most likes from our community for each round will be posted on a Leader Board here on the site.
The comment that receives the most likes overall from any of the 5 rounds will become the victorious winner of The GCCB Shack Cup!
Here's an example:
1962-63 Toronto Maple Leafs Vs. 1979-80 New York Islanders.
Would it be close or a blowout? The boys in blue, or NY's finest? The stellar Leaf roster that includes Frank Mahovlich, George Armstrong, Tim Horton, Johnny Bower and Bob Pulford up against such Islander powerhouses like Bryan Trottier, Mike Bossy, Clark Gillies, Denis Potvin and Billy Smith!
Check out all the stats and history of both teams from The Hockey Hall of Fame and NHL.com to gain the competitive edge to secure those Facebook comment likes to win!
So, make sure you comment fast on who you think the winner would be from Round 1 which will be posted on August 1 to get the likes you need to bring home the cup!
