The Neil Peart Pavillion...The Name Has A Perfect Beat To It!

Updated: Jun 12, 2020

St. Catherines, Ontario is naming the pavilion at Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie, after of one of its favourite sons, legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart. Perfect.

Mayor Walter Sendzik said the vote between the two suggestions proposed for the park was "overwhelmingly in support of the internationally renowned musician Neil Peart," To make it complete Google has already updated the park's map.

What a wonderful tribute to Neil who passed in January of this year. Mayor Sendzik also stated that It's "a fitting, fitting name for an amazing individual who has done so much for music, not just here in Canada but around the world." I think we all agree.

An absolutely fitting place to have The Neil Peart Pavilion is the place he wrote about back in 1975 on Rush's classic Caress of Steel Album.

Read more about The Neil Peart Pavillion here. As well I highly recommend reading his book Ghost Rider:Tales on the Healing Road, a touching and very personal look into his life.
