Brett Hull and Bobby Hull become part of the first father-and-son team to win the Hart Trophy when he wins the NHL's MVP award in 1991.















Buffalo Sabres acquireTim Horton from The Pittsburgh Penguins in 1972.
















Wayne Gretzky is selected to the NHL's second All-Star Team and wins the 1980 Hart Trophy as NHL MVP, in his first season in the NHL.

In 1990, Edmonton's Mark Messier becomes the first player other than Wayne Gretzky or Mario Lemieux to win the Hart Trophy since Bryan Trottier's 1979 win.














Wayne Gretzky becomes the first player in NHL history to win the same award nine times when he was named the recipient of the Hart Trophy after his first season with the Los Angeles Kings in 1989.

When the Red Wings beat the Flyers and win the 1997 Stanley Cup, Scotty Bowman becomes the first coach to win the Cup with three different teams.













Denis Potvin wins the 1976 Norris Trophy as best defensemen, breaking Bobby Orr's eight year run on the award.
