This Week in Hockey History-Brooklyn Goes Nine-Nine

Any day that has some Wayne history should be a national holiday. It just makes sense.

Wayne Gretzky signs to The New York Rangers on July 21, 1996. An incredible move that reunites The Great One with Mark Messier to rekindle some magical hockey chemistry first witnessed in the glory days of the 1980's Edmonton Oilers. After four moves, this would be 99's last team in the NHL.

Of course this isn't the end of the story with Wayne Gretzky's time with The New York Rangers. What happened with Mark Messier the next season!? Please visit The Hockey Hall of Fame and NHL.com to find out the whole story and everything about the fastest game on ice now!!
